Conference South playoff semi – Lost 1-3 to Eastbourne, who went on to get promoted

Well I took control of the club with confidence of surviving the Conference South at an all time low. The board said that they would be happy with a brave fight against relegation and my assistant who I hired as soon as I arrived said we had a our work cut out to keep this club up. So I set about strengthening this squad of part timers, but with a restrictive wage budget of 2k and a transfer budget of £0 this was going to be difficult. I sent my scouts to furthest reaches of the UK and began to sign some promising players. Happened to stray across some French men who seemed willing to join the side. So with the new talent in and training, the season starts of to a flyer and after 12 games we are unbeaten and sitting pretty at the top of the table. But then the wheels, engine and framework began to fall apart and we were consistently inconsistent but somehow staying in the top 5 for the rest of the season. Overall a surprising start to my campaign, hopefully next season will see us keeping form and hopefully promotion.
Top goal scorer being a youngish talent with 15 in 36 appearances
Player of the season is our inspirational young captain who played solidly in defensive midfielder.

Freshly relegated Gravesend secured promotion with a 10 point cushion.
Conference South playoff final – Lost 4-3 in extra time to old rival Weston-super-Mare
FA Cup: 4th Qual. Rnd
FA Trophy: 2nd Round
The board trusted that I would get the club in a respectable league position this year after the influx of new players and the over performance last year. I was confidant that we could achieve such a task. But our pre Christmas run was one of the worst I have ever experienced. The team wasn’t gelling and the results showed with us lying in 11th place and with no confidence. So Christmas brought around pressies and a massive tactical overhaul and low and behold a first team side began to string some results together and after a 19 game unbeaten run we were sitting comfortably in the play-offs. But this year was not be our year (again) as the lucky gits at Weston-super-Mare stole promotion from under our nose’s 0-2 to us at 80mins and I thought promotion was guaranteed o’ how I was wrong.. 4-3 final score and a broken keyboard.
Oh and the developing youth the year before was snapped up by West Brom on a free as the little brat wouldn’t sign my new contract. I’ll keep my eye on him.
Season 07/08
Conference South
1st P: 42 W: 26 D: 10: L: 6 For: 75 Ag: 25 GD: +50 Pts: 88
Billericay town and I were a comfortable 20 points clear of the rest of the table and secured the second promotion place easily in the play offs.
FA Cup: 1st Round
FA Trophy: 3rd Round
The board expected much of the same this year but I was determined to make an active push for that single out right promotion place. With the help of some of the youths that I had bought 2 years ago I thought that St. Albans had every right to be up they’re with the big fish. But the start of the season wasn’t to be, with a run of 7 games without a win I could feel the board breathing down my neck so I made some drastic changes to the squad and tactics and low an behold it worked and we then went on to go 22 games unbeaten and sitting pretty at the top of pile with my new wonder kid netting 21 in 36 starts! And with the media praising such a young team winning the ECS I felt that only better things are to follow next season. But the main problem as with all part time teams is that the cash flow is seriously stumping it’s growth and will need be sorted out before this team eventually breaks through to League 2 (hopefully breaks through)
Players in: 7 – 5k
Player out: 18 – 11k
The Frenchmen I bought in during my first season in charge finally began to get some form and enjoy playing football with average ratings of DR: 7.26, DM: 7.49 AMR: 7.16 ST: 7.22 (scored 27 goals in 42 appearances)
Oh and the young talent that was snapped up by West Brom is enjoying playing for their u18's squad with 10 first team apperances under his belt at 17.
