Season 08/09
Conference National

2nd P: 46 W: 26 D: 7 L: 13 For: 76 Ag: 41 GD: +35 Pts: 85
Ended up 14 points adrift of the league giants, Stockport who only lost 5 games.

Playoff Final – Lost 0-1 to Cambridge in a very tight game, overall I was happy with the lads
FA Cup: 1st Round (again)
FA Trophy: Winners, won 2-1 against Bury

Well what a season! I was greeted at the start of the season with a £100,000 payment for T.V rights and being informed that the team is going full-time which came as a bit of a shock for my bank balance. The bookies thought we were going to fight bravely against relegation but I was pretty sure that we’d end up in the safety of the middle of the pack. Even I was going to be proven wrong.

We got off to a horrible start and loosing 8 straight games and only netting one goal I thought the bookies had pigeon holed us correctly. But after the lads had settled into the league we started to string together some decent results and found ourselves knocking on the play-off’s door. A very successful FA Trophy run got us into our first cup final ever! Which we won comfortably. We finished the league run in a strong 2nd place, but we were never going to catch high flying Stockport. So came the playoffs where unfortunately the lads never really got into their stride and were beat 0-1 in the final vs Cambridge.

Overall a very successful season, with our wonder kid striker (who I installed into the squad last season) making his first u21 international debut and played well. But the star of the show had to be the French striker who has slowly adapted to the English game and recorded a new goal scoring club record , achieved 9 MoM awards and was the fans player of the year again!

Alittle update on the youngster that got snapped up by West Brom.

Well after 3 seasons with the Championship side he now finds himself as a free agent. Obviously he just wasn't cut out for Championship football.

I'm now considering re-signing him but not before an extensive scout report.

Sweet, good work! It's always nice when a team just clicks and a plan comes together.

Don't you just love the feeling of going full-time? It's like a beautiful girl falling in love with you. Well...almost as good.

Season 09/10
Conference National

1st P: 46 W: 28 D: 8 L:10 For: 76 Ag: 35 GD: +41 Pts 92
Had a season long battle with Hereford and Chesterfield for top place but in the end our form held and ended up 8 points clear at the top.

FA Cup: 4th Round
LDV Vans Trophy: South 2nd Round
FA Trophy: Semi Final

Even though we were said to only achieve a mid table finish after last season I thought that we’d finish much the same position and with a few good signings I knew that we’d up in around the play-offs. But the season didn’t start well for St.Albans, even though we were winning games I was worrying about the financial side and opted to sell our rising star u21 England striker for 500k which did not go down well with the board or supporters and had a pretty tough couple of weeks as players started to fall out with my transfer methods and 2 more rising youths were pushed out of the club to cover the debt. But once the money was sorted and in fighting was stopped we were pretty unstoppable and even with 7 first team players injured in the final months my reserve youths handled themselves well to carry the team to Champions crown. Bring on League 2 and no doubt a relegation battle.

FA Cup was a massive earner for us taking on League 1 sides in the 3rd and 4th round.

The French striker was a continual presence up front and many of my young strikers teamed up with him very well. But unfortunately he didn’t achieve top goal scorer as he was out for 2 months at the end of the season. But he figures heavily in my plans for survival next season.

KUTGW

St Albans quite a nic eclub to manage. They always seem to make profit without having to do much.

I'm guessing you are slightly over the wage budget then! When I managed them they made steady profit all the way through to league two.
