I've finally found clear evidence of events that boost your ambition attribute. If you sign young players with a bright future in the game, and especially when the fans convey their excitement about the signing, your ambition will improve. Also, if you express interest in signing a player that is of a higher quality than usual for your club, or you actually get lucky and sign one that normally wouldn't be playing with a lower reputation club, your ambition will usually increase.
