"Secondly, it has always been considered as acceptable for LLaMas to manage in countries where there is only one playable league. This would not, of course, include higher reputation countries."
Thanks for the info guys and the debate. Club Deportivo Cruz Azul Oaxaca are indeed in the mexica A divison which is the lowest possible league in Mexico (in the game that is) and I decided to load up Mexico (obviously) MLS and English championship and premiership.
I also decided after sellign a player for 2.5m pounds which I expect is a big pay day for a club like this.. that even with those resources I would not scout my borders i.e USA. Instead my scout found lots of free transfers (large database) all mexican and some not bad at all.
The scouting issue is a dilemma for me because the rest of teams are buying Argentines and other South american players etc. However that said, I managed to get the club promoted after a draw in the playoff final... seems that league performance is used instead of penalties in case of a draw.
But here is the big one. Since that success I have been offered the job as manager of Man City who are fourth from bottom in Premiership. Is this realistic as per the guidlines in LLM or is it ridiculous?
I'd say minor success at Mexican LL level (I say minor because you didn't win your league) is probably not going to be enough to warrant a Premiership job. I'd say you probably need to win the cup or sustain some success in the Mexican top flight before the UK teams would be in the least interested IRL
If you were an ex top flight footballer who had spent a couple of years as an assistant then took an opportunity to manage a club in Mexico to get some experience, it would be possible Man City could come knocking. I don't think too many LLaMas think that way though, but it's up to you. Personally, I wouldn't take it.
I thought it was lucky to be offered that job. Actually I dod win the league .. they do a play off for the league.. anyone of the top eight teams can be the champions... weird eh? It is the same in Australia. Adelaide united won the league which they term minor premiers but then in the play off finals they lost to Sydney in the semis .... so adelaide aren't anything... very strnage system but there you are.
I have now been offered a job at Chicago Fire. I have taken it as I think that is more likely and possibly a weaker league anyway .. although not too sure of that... now got to look at rules for MLS because that system also seems weird.
Lets hope Frank gives me Cefn Druids next time as I can handle them
I went and saw Adelaide Utd lose the preliminary final to the Mariners. Shocking defending for that goal , defending I expect my Conference South team to do no in the A-League. Ah well there's always next year.
