We only brought in one player for this season, [young Norway regen striker] lit our team on fire scoring on better than a goal-per-game pace. We had bought him last July and he only arrived this July, but it was well worth the wait.

We again improved our league performance, working up to 6th this season. Again our late-season form helped us gain a coveted European place.

We had our usual Quarterfinal Russian Cup loss - this time to CSKA.

Our European play came in the Euro VASE (Inter-Toto Cup). We took on Djurgarden, from the Swedish Premier Division, in the 3rd round, and we earned a really nice 5-nil aggregate victory. Our draw for the Semifinals was not that bad - we'd play Holland's NAC Breda. Alas, we didn't come up with the good and lost 3-1 on aggregate. We went down 2-nil at home in the first leg, and as such we never really even had a sniff of advancing to the finals.

6th Place, 49 points in 30 games (Russian Premier Division).
Russian Cup Quarterfinal.
EuroVASE Semifinal.
