Default Lower League managing, what leagues to load up?

I am going to take charge at a Conference North or South club. Is it worth loading the Welsh and Irish leagues? Will players from low Itallian and Spanish teams come to me in the Conference north or south?

No, because you'll follow the SWYCT and SYB guidelines and never have a sniff at Spain or Italy until you reach at least the Championship.

Right?

Just in terms of the thread title (which in this case might be misleading ) load up as many leagues as your PC can handle according to how fast you want your game to be. Someday, if you are successful, you will want the other leagues to find players or to expand your management options.

In my current game, I have all UK and Irish divisions, plus the top divisions from the following: Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, France, and Belgium. The game runs smoothly for me with slight bogginess during the transfer windows (that is what books are for ), and I have a lot of potential options for scouting and managing.

Sure, more leagues in wich you can fail as a manager

Just take a peek at some ECN/ECS clubs and what nationalities the players have. 90% Should be English, the rest is mainly Scottish, Irish or Welsh.

Load as many as you like. Personally I like playing with around 50 leagues loaded.

What the others said.

The more leagues you load, the slower your game will be. Also, when I run a game with lots of leagues I tend to stick with it for longer because I've put more time into it.

In terms of foreign players - no. By following SWYCT and SYB, you won't be able to scout any of them until you're in League 1 at the earliest. Unless they join another club in the Conference(s).
