I have always assumed that with 2 or 3 coaches plus an ass man they would be working on different schedules.
Ex. I might have a coach working with defence, tactics and strength. My ass man might cover all schedules and another coach might focus on attacking play. They are all on part time contracts so to accomodate my full time players I'd assume that the coaching staff work different hours.
Coach 1: mornings
Coach 2: afternoons
Ass man: afternoons, evenings.
Now that's just an assumption I've made. Which might not in any way make sense.
If you look at the training regimes in the Training Screen and the full time players get full-time training, not part-time, then I'd say there's little need to worry...you're not paying guys full-time wages for turning up part-time
Probably the part-time coaches job-share. One guy comes in the morning, the other the afternoon
I don't know about part time coaches, but I think I am still a part time manager. My wages are £110 per week and we are in 2012, my assistant gets £300 and my coaches £275. It is not fair I tell you, not fair at all.

You suck at contract negotiations!
I had £100 for my first year (promoted to Conference), then £120 for the next three years (stayed in conference) and then they wanted to reduce my wages to £85 for the next 4 years. I wanted an increase but they finally said that £110 was their final offer. I signed. (now promoted to League 1 and just ouside the play-offs for the championship). I think I'll be wanting more next time.
You are right, I suck at contract negotiations, unless I want to save the club money.
