That's the problem with the way contract negotiations at the moment. There is no real need to have a high wage and so by taking the lowest offer possible you can save the club money and so allow yourself more money for other wages, transfers etc. Now if it were possible to actually go something with your wages, or if there was a record of your career earnings...

There was an article in the bootroom years ago. It was about starting as a coach after having retired from professional football. In the article you could buy a club and become chairman if you earned enough money. An interesting concept, however, it would probably require some modifications to the current code

It was actually about the time Ian had 3 articles about LLM. Those were top notch but probably don't exist anymore. I have to say that I'd love to read them again they were the reason I ventured into this part of the forum.
