I am managing in France and so naturally, my scout is scouting France. After digging up loads of distinctly average players my scout finally strikes what I consider to be potential gold (and my scout agrees ). However, he is playing in England for the MK Dons. Funny I think, perhaps they got bored of Milton Keynes and moved all the way to France...perhaps not. Anyway, I discover he is actually on load to the Dons from a French club so I'm guessing that is why my scout has found him. (SortitoutSI ) I know that I shouldn't really sign him as there is no way that my scout could have found him but he is the best player my scout has ever found.
If the player is ultimately based in France, then I personally believe that this is fine. The scout may have watched him before the loan, or he could have learned about him and then had a look at video or perhaps some televised games of the Dons.
I'd say he's fair game, Gillmacs. Scouting IRL at lower levels often goes by word of mouth prior to the scout actually taking a look. Greg's explanation sums it up nicely. It's not like France and England are opposite sides of the world, either.
