Do you find a player, plan to sign him, and send out the scouts just so it's "allowed by the rules"?
Absolutely not. The scouts are sent out to find players without any restrictions as to the results of their search, or pin-pointing of any kind.
If a player is found by the scout, he's fair play. That's all. </BLOCKQUOTE>
That was a rhetorical question, you poof I already knew the answer.
And I've said all along that if the player is found by a scout rather than scouted at your request, he's fair game. The point of discussion was for players you'd identified by other means.

Why do you hate-me? You don't even know-me!
I'm not running over the forum chasing you. I don't hate you. If you posted sensibly and actually played LLM I might have a bit more respect for you, but hate you? Don't flatter yourself. Are you saying that because you're here I can't read all the threads? To paraphrase you "what gives you the right" to make that assertion?
Why are you so upset I called you for having a go at someone? Don't like the truth? If someone tells me I'm being unreasonable I'll take it like a man rather than a drivelling, snivelling little c*nt like you have.
jcb23, I think you have been a bit harsh with dGreb, and it seems to have spilled over into other topics. But I understand the point you're trying to make.
In the end, hopefully dGreb has learned that there is a fine line between playing the LLM way and abusing the technicality of having to use your scouts. In his case, it sounds like he had every intention of signing this player, even though he thought he was crap. He knew this before he sent his scout. And I don't see a problem with sending the scout to reveal the other attributes before going ahead with the offer. But that is only if he already saw enough of the player's ability himself to indicate that he was worth signing in an emergency.
But certainly you don't want to make a habit of ignoring your scout or simply using him to satisfy an LLM guideline without really utilizing his recommendations. So, as long as this was a temporary solution to a dire problem, and he intended to sign the player based on the little information he already had available from the media or player stats tables, then I don't see it as a complete departure from LLM.
I'm sure we've all signed crap players as temporary fixes. In many of these cases, the idiot scouts actually recommend these crap players, and that gives us some justification for signing them. It doesn't seem much different to me when you need a similar temporary fix and see a player in the player stats tables or the media that you'd like to sign despite being crap. You just send the scout to get the final details. And who knows? Maybe the scout will uncover some good attributes and even recommend him.

Greg - fair enough. The other topic isn't a spillover from here though, be very clear about that. I take a very dim view of his having had a go at QPRSteve there when Steve's made a valid on-topic post. It's newer members acting like this that get LLM a bad name, and I don't like it.
I think dGreb is acting within the letter of the law but not the spirit, and rather than discuss it he's decided I have a vendetta. I think the fact that several others of us have managed to discuss the same topic without rancour would indicate I'm not being overly unreasonable from an ethics point of view.
