Was sick as a dog all weekend & Monday. My boss is sure I'm skiving /o\

But I got to sit around on the sofa all day playing FM and watching the cricket \o/ - until the cricket got too exciting and I had to clench the dog's rubber toys to relieve tension.

Lots to write up. Can't remember half of it.

Royal League was played for the first time last season. It's an attempt by the Scandinavian equivalents of the FA to make sure that the best teams in Scandinavia gets more games against quality teams.

Last season it was won by FC København mostly due to them being lucky. Four teams from each scandinavian country participates. Incidentally it has proven to be more profitable than the UEFA Cup for the Danish teams. That's most likely because Danish teams suck in Europe though

Ooooh, a valid post

Cheers Donald. I was wondering where it came from. It's quite useful if you're in Europ competition since it keeps your players relatively fit after the domestic league finishes in October.

Not that my Euro campaigns have ever lasted long enough to benefit

I have jumped.... but you'll have to wait to find out where My wireless router blew up yesterday so I can't post from home.

I loaded all the Scandinavian leagues when I started the game because I thought it would take longer to get to the top - and I could try out some different countries on the way. Apart from that I've only got the EPL - and I'm not quite ready for that yet.

Gefle - 2014 - Swedish Premier Div, Euro Cup

P26 W15 D3 L8 F48 A35 P48 - Pos 3rd
Swedish Cup: Winners 3-0 over Trelleborg! \o/
Euro Cup: Lose valiantly in the first group stage
Royal "Pain in the Ar$e" League: Bottom of the group

Now we're cooking with gas. My young team hits some great form this year and I spend most of it fighting off bids for my star MC and FC. Eventually I have to let the creative midfielder go to Zaragoza for £1.5m but the striker stays and hits 24 goals in 29 starts.

Foolishly I decide to go for it in all competitions this season. Our league form suffers through fixture congestion and injuries - we're in the relegation zone after 10 games. But a storming homeward run secures European action again.

The Euro Cup is a learning experience. We scrape through 2 qualifying rounds against Eastern European opposition. But Parma (0-2) and Benfica (1-3) run us ragged and out of our group.

Gefle - 2015 - Swedish Premier Div

P26 W17 D3 L6 F44 A21 P54 - Pos 1st \o/
Swedish Cup: Out in 2nd rnd
Euro Cup: Out in 2nd qual rnd
Royal League: 3rd in 1st group phase

Secured the title at the 3rd attempt. Star striker is now a Swedish national regular and keeps us in the hunt. We're not so prolific this year, but some defensive tweaks turn draws into wins and we lift the trophy on the last day.

After the end of the season AIK activate my star striker's release clause with a £3m bid. Immediately afterwards the AIK manager is sacked for a 7th place finish. They're a huge and rich club: 36,000 all-seater ground, youth academy, etc. I agonise for a while. I'm fond of Gefle and looking forward to Champions League competition. But I know that I'll never be able to attract star names like the big boys. So I jump for the second time.
