I tanked it in a big way. Failed to win a single game and only scraped 3rd place with a last gasp draw on the final day. Blew the playoffs 2-1 and 3-1. Disgusted.

Enskede finished in a creditable 6th place. I'm pretty sure they won't do so well next season because I've just finished signing all their best players.

On the plus side, Gefle is cashflow positive thanks to a 6000-seater stadium. Good chunk of transfer cash means next season looks promising.

Spent the close season reviewing the Gefle squad. The fans aren't pleased when I flog an U21 international DL for £180k to raise funds, but the money brings us backup in all areas. Great to be managing a team with national rep - no problem signing some great-looking youngsters.

A twist of fate draws us against Enskede in the first game of the season. A very satisfying 5-0 victory sets up the first half of the season nicely - apart from the Cup which sucks ar$e of course.

The youngsters are a hit - particularly an U21 international MC who's soon worth £200k. Unfortunately they spend large parts of the season away playing Euro Champs qualifiers. I have to rotate the squad and our form is erratic. We scrape into the final playoff spot with a last day win.

We get a huge break when Norrkoping's star defender is sent off early in the first playoff leg, which we win 4-2. The second leg starts badly as we go 2-0 down before half time. But after a desparate tactical reshuffle we manage to sneak a goal on the counterattack late on. Gefle scramble into the Premier Division 5-4 on aggregate :-)

p.s. Enskede are relegated dead last with a -46 goal difference. I take huge delight in releasing regular press statements proclaiming the new manager as my best friend ever. :efg:

I thought managing in Sweden I'd be bound to find some juicy press stories about my illicit affair with a TV weathergirl. Maybe I'll have to jump to the UK to let loose the tabloids. I've loaded the EPL just in case

Swedish cup: Kicked out in 2nd round

First season in the big league is all about staying up. A relatively huge 90k transfer pot is unfortunately useless as scouts can't turn up any suitable prospects. Worse, our star keeper demands out before the season starts and we face the prospect of kicking off with only a youth team goalie.

Last minute wheeler dealing signs up a barely competent replacement. We start brightly with a couple of wins, then spend the rest of the season clinging on. Not too disappointed by a 10th place finish - the youngsters are still to hit peak form, so next season should be easier. We're scoring ok, but obviously we need a higher class of defender in this div.

Big question: Are my scouts not turning up players because this club just isn't well-respected enough to attract them? And if so should I jump to a bigger rep outfit? That would be a realistic enough option. But I'm kind of attached to the place now. Would like to struggle through.

My guess is your scouts will never find another player again - you'll have to move clubs for the scouting to be "kickstarted".
