Re: your Cardiff example; the players are possibly looking at the board's ambition for the club - and Cardiff's ambitions are, according to Sam Hamman, to be up there with the Man Utd's and Chelsea's of the world. Pipe dreams, maybe, but things are going in the right direction irl, and I know that it is in the game to an extent too (Cardiff move into their new stadium in 2006 in the game and usually get promoted to the premier within a season or two).

You're probably right. I'm keeping an eye on the petulant player in question. He's getting splinters in his ar$e at the moment from sitting on the Cardiff bench.

It's been a while...

Gillingham - 2023/2024 - English Premiership

P38 W13 D10 L15 F42 A55 P49 - Pos 12th
League Cup: 3rd rnd lost 0-1 to Blackburn
FA Cup: 3rd rnd lost 1-4 to Fulham
UEFA Cup: 1st rnd lost 2-3 to Rosenborg

Beginners' luck has worn off evidently. Bigger clubs poach my best strikers and leave me struggling for goals. European adventure is frustratingly short lived. Never in any danger of relegation though. International management has become too much of a chore so I resign from Sweden.

EPL: Chelsea
Champions League: Udinese
UEFA Cup: Young Boys

Gillingham - 2024/2025 - English Premiership

League Cup: 2nd rnd lost 0-1aet to Man City
FA Cup: 3rd rnd lost 0-1 to Wolves

We bounce back nicely from last season's disappointment. Not much cash for new signings, but some prospects from last season come good - especially a young Welsh striker who bangs in 22 league goals to propel us into the last Champions League spot in the final day.

UEFA Cup: Chievo
