Something i dont seem to understand,

why is a premiership title much more valuable than a champions cup? i would have thought champions cup is worth more than the title.

the champions league is kinda dependent on the luck of the draw i guess. The best team wins the premier league, but not neccessarily the best team in europe wins the champions league since it is a cup competition to some extent. I m sure plenty of managers will get fired if expectation is based mainly on the champions league

I'm sure 90% of fans of the big clubs would rather be domestic champions than European champions(given the choice of only 1).

Agree with BeN82, winning the Champions League requires a bit of luck,but generally winning a 38 game season requires you to be the best team.

are you serious? In spain all people believe that a CL is more important than La Liga. In your domestic league you have to be consistent, but in CL you play against best clubs in Europe.

The hall of fame gives you more points (80 in 07 I think) for winning champions league than EPL (40?). Board expectations... I don't know, maybe it is just another bug out of the 100 for this feature.

The hall of fame gives 200 points for winning the world cup too. However, the best team in the world doesn't always win the world cup because there can be an off day or they just can't take penalty kicks.

Back to the topic, if expectations were heavily weighted on club cup competitions, many managers would be out of a job. Example, Fergie when United failed to get out of the Champions league group stages two years ago, Rijkaard last season and a whole host of managers the season mourinho won it with porto.
