I am playing as Stirling Albion in Scotland, and they haven't got an active reserve team. This is true to the real world model, but would I be able to get an invitation later on so my reserve team can start playing matches?
Not sure about Scottish league, but in England BS north and south teams (im pretty sure bsp premier teams dont too) dont have reserve or under 18 teams, only when you progress to the leagues does that option become available. Maybe thats why.
i end up painstakingly arranging friendly matches from august to december for my atletico reserves, because i only loaded the top two divisions. started a new game with valencia with all spanish leagues loaded (as most reserve teams are in a league in spain), yet they don't have a reserve team in any league!
if you can ask you assistant to arrange friendlies, he should then arrange reserve games, as he is set as the reserve team manager. but he don't.
If not, a trick i used to do with BS south/north teams is arrange friendlies between your reserve and u18 sides, like Klimowicz said above. It takes a little time but its worth it so your players dont get too rusty
I manage in Italy and there are no reserves fixtures. I thought I's be smart and enter Juventus Reserves into an Italian lower division using the editor, surprise, surprise you cant select Italian reserves teams in the editor :thdn:
As a result I have filled my reserves with loaned out players, cut my first team to about 19 players and get rid of my youth players (normally for free) once they're too old for the youth team. Now I have an empty reserves team.
It's not a huge thing because I've learned to adapt and play around it but in future versions of the game I'd like to be able to make the assman to arrange friendlies for the reserves.
