i sorta agree
but apparently more people like it that way. i just know that as i get older, i am able to spend less time playing... if it starts to become a 2nd job, i'll have to hang it up.
I do agree but if you read wwfans postings (yes I agree you shouldnt HAVE to), then you'l be OK. Its better that 07 - complicated & unfathomable. Someone introduced the concept of logic to 08.
It'll never be a "2nd job", what would be the point of just smashing the spacebar and watching the 2D blobs bring you silverware? You just have to give a little more thought into reading the game rather than just celebrating goals, and you obviously don't need to extend your FM sessions for this.
Rule of thumb I follow and it gets me great results: whatever your "preferred formation" is, don't play it. It changed every 6 months (I think). I can have the best team in the world but teh computer will counter that formation and I'll lose or at least struggle.
I remember the "good old days" when you could either go down the tactical route, or the "good player" route. Now it doesnt matter if your players are superior, if your tactic isnt just right you'll fail.

Is anyone else starting to feel as if the game is becoming overtly tactic based, it's probably in an effort to achieve maximum reality.
However it is a bit tedious and hugely frustrating, I hope SI tones it down for 09
The problem here is that people think they can develop one super tactic and expect it to result in wins every game without changing it
In real life a football manager will need to adjust his tactics based upon the players he has available and the opposition for EACH match
As the chap said earlier you need to play one game at a time
I think one of the problems people are having that the complexity and level of immersion is starting to increase. As a management simulation I'd say a move toward realism is a step in the right direction. The best things in life come with effort, investment, attention to detail.....and a full patch

By the way it is still allowed to play the older versions of the game (with unofficial data updates) if people prefer how they used to be...
