If a player is completely dissatisfied then the only thing to do is sell him.
I bought a young winger from Arsenal who had great potential. He'd only been at the club a few weeks soon had time off for illness, and then started skipping training. He even skipped it after I agreed to transfer list him because he couldn't settle in the area. Needless to say, he was on his bike smartish!
However, other players have a bit of a sulk for a week or two and then they become happy once again.
If I were you, I'd want a player in my squad who viewed competition for places as a challenge, not a threat.
