Default Hit a brick wall!!!

I have finally given up with my Liverpool season on the 8.0.1 patch. 1st season got a whole new coaching and fitness system setup so all the coaches are 5 or 6 stars in their best role, Torres scored 15 league goals and Kuyt 23 but i still lost 8 games and drew 15 finishing 5th 28 points off Man Utd. i would be winning alot of games then concede late on. Every time the opposition attacked they carved me open. I set the back 4 up to be defensive, Alonso Sisokko not to make forward runs and still i was left open. I have tried various instructions but always stuck with 442. A player would get injured in every match and in the end i could not even put a subs bench out in champ league matches due to injuries. 2nd season started off ok but lost 3 out of 6 and im conceding more than ever even though i signed collocini.Like i say i have world class coaches and 4 fitness coaches as i wanted a fit side with stamina but the results are not there.

my team was a 442 as follows

Reina
Alves (no forward runs)
Riise (no forward runs)
Caragher (set to defence)
Hypia (set to defence)
Alonso (No forward runs)
Gerard (Forward runs)
Babel (attacking mentality)
Benayoun or Kewell (attacking mentality)
Torres
Kuyt

with the above setup surely i cant concede that many goals!!

I played pressing just over the halfway slider and normal mentality.

The teamtalks never do much too

What am i doing wrong

Don't only look at the results, look at the statistics.
Have you few chanches? then it is a bad tactic
Have you a lot of chanches but don't score. Maybe bad players
Have you a lot of chanches, but you don't score, and the opposition needs only 4 shots to score 3 times? ===> the game is screwing you.

Liverpool were the 2nd highest scorers in the league but like i say evertime oponents attacked they ripped me apart. I cant see how i have set my team and players up that they are an all out gung ho attacking team. Yeah they attack but my backline is set really defensive. Its not like i have a bad back 4 neither.

Why don't you try a different formation mate 4-4-2 isn't always the way.

Sometimes attack is the best form of defense. For example when I play Arsenal I always go to a short quick attacking passing game.Like them.Seems to work well.I always attack the top 3 teams (I am also Liverpool btw).

I've been playing a 4-3-1-2 with Liverpool in Fm08 and in 3 seasons so far, I've won almost everything all the time and I've lost less than 5-6 games overall, although I've drawn about 15.

The formation I use is:

GK Reina

LWB Riise/Insua with fwd runs

RWB Finnan/Behrami/Barragan with fwd runs

CB Carragher

CB Agger/Billy Jones(great buy. got him for less than 1MP and he's worth 23MP now with England caps and is being scouted by Real,Inter,Barca,Juve and Lyon)

MC Alonso/Gerrard/Mascherano(defensive mentality with try through balls often)

AMC Gerrard/Babel/Kuyt/Mata (either AM or player settings set to target man)

LWM Mata/Kewell/Quaresma with runs into the box

RWM Babel/Benayoun/Hernandez/Quaresma set to winger with runs along the sideline

FC Torres
FC Kuyt/Voronin/Owen/Nemeth

I've generally scored a lot of goals with this formation and conceded about 2 in 5 matches.
