Totti and Essien are both in the video. I'm not sure if you are just ignorant or plain stupid.

I said skill and flare... by skill I meant ball control skill... essentially flashy technique.

Fine, you can argue that some modern players are a bit too light on their feet and that some contact is necessary in the game but to be honest that video is atrocious.

The tackles in there weren't tackles that are a "bit hard", they were career threatening tackles, no intention to win the ball was present. These aren't and shouldn't be part of the game. It's not a matter of modern footballers being "soft" if you injure someone with one of the tackles in that video then you could put them out for months, even end their career and that's just completely stupid and certainly not "sporting".

I honestly don't know if you think that the tackles in there are justified and how you think the game should be played or if you're just putting it on to start arguments and piss people off but either way you're a moron.

i have come to the conclusion that toonarmy is a flamer, in both senses of the meaning.

flamer

1. A flamboyant homosexual.

2. A person who deliberately makes inflammitory or slanderous posts on internet message boards for the purpose of starting a flame war.

examples
1. That one dude from Will & Grace.

2. The forum member's tendancy to insult and pick fights with other users earned him a reputation as a flamer.

That keane challenge on haaland is sickening...

I agree with everyone but toon army. The game should be played with skilll, technique and not just kicking the shit out of eachother. Granted, that is a laugh in school but the vast majority of people dont watch the game for those reasons. Good players are those who can pass and strike a ball well etc, not going around with two-footed lunges.

I agree that players these days do go down far too easily and the rolling around on the pitch like they have been shot is a disgrace. Footballers should be able to cope with the physical side as it is a contact sport, but saying that the game should be played like in the video is way, way over the top.
