I've changed this value in colours.xml:

<colour name="text" red="65" green="77" blue="76"/>

The problem is that it changed the tree text to that colour too. My main text area has a bright background so it looks fine, but my tree's BG is dark meaning the text blends in too much.

How do you change the tree text seperately?

You need to manually change to tree colour in 'sections.xml'

Best way to do it is to define a new colour in the file where you change the whole text colour. Just add a line and for example:

<colour name="tree" red="65" green="77" blue="76"/>

Call it some thing you can remember.

Now go into the sections.xml, find the widgets showing text and add the following line within it's body. Put it below the line that says <flags id="spec" value="text,small"/>:

<flags id="colour" value="tree"/>

You'll need to change 'tree_menu' for the top area of the tree and 'modal_menu' for the bottom.

For the bottom area you'll need to also change two other files 'match_controls_panel' and 'team_actions_panel' too. This is done in the same way, find the widget displaying text and add the <flags id="colour" value="tree"/> line.
