Still, they didn't remove it. They only hid it and in such an obvious way (they only commented the line that mentioned the huge DB, didn't remove it as a whole) that it was only begging to be shown.

Still the fixed "huge" database is smaller than in fm06.

For example: i loaded up a game in fm2006 with french league and all divisions+huge database the result according to fm genie scout was 35000+ players

same thing with fm2007 and there were only 25000+ players in the game. though its progress from the large database as it only had 8500+ players with the same league setting.

so still need to add all players from some countries to get to the same amount of that in fm06.

I played a season with just England running on the large database and the limitations are pretty apparent - there is a clear problem with a lack of foreign players and any feeder clubs overseas seem to just have greys, pretty pointless.

I've just restarted with the huge db option, with 25 or so top league divisions running in 'view only' in addition to England and it looks a hell of a lot better. Much more of a real world feel to it. And surprisingly it's not that slow either, still faster than FM06 with just England running. I'd recommend this to you all.

Yes, ExamDiff is a nice freeware program for visually comparing text files. Comes quite handy if you're in a development team or like in this case want to compare a text file with another one before replacing it.

And really, "where can I find it?" is not a question you should ask now that you live in the Google era. Just a search for "ExamDiff" would give you a hundred different download mirrors.
