I've looked on some of the other threads and they answer my questions but not all so here goes:
Playing as Man Utd, Using a Flat 442, i get the impression that a striker that has a good first touch rating should be designated as a target man, and someone with creative should be a playmaker. With this in mind, im trying to decide who should be my playmaker n target man.
Default lineup is:
VDS
Neville, R Ferdinand, Vidic Heinze
Ronaldo, Gattuso, Scholes, Giggs
Rooney Saha
Ronaldo, Scholes and Giggs have the "Free Role" option ticked
Also have Carrick n, Huntelaar, Torres that may be of interest.
What I'm thinking is that the other striker to Rooney should be the TM, and The scholes/carrick role as a playmaker - thoughts/comments?
Cheers. I'm playing the Saha/Rooney Combo, as Torres has this magic ability to be in front of goal and let the keeper save it. Plus Saha+rooney are making quite an effective combo.
Back to topic, so you reckon that setting Rooney as a TM and setting both MC Roles as playmakers would be good? Should I be thinking about putting any other players in the TM category, seeing as it uses the standard preference list like the other tactical option?
It works for playmakers as well, so there can only be 1 playmaker in your team. You can't set both MCs to be playmakers as the game automatically chooses the first player on the list to be the playmaker.
I admit Torres lacks composure in front of goal, so it's good that Saha + Rooney works out well for you. I still think there are way better options than Saha though.
Rooney with TM instructions of run onto ball or to feet with 1 playmaker MC can work out fine.
