Every single big tactic thread around is using a back 4 of some sort.

Are there others like me that enjoy a back 3?

Let's discuss them here, compare notes and what not.

I've been using a 3-2-3-2 formation myself.
3 DCs. 2 DMCs. AMRLC. 2 STs.
Although lately i've played with a sweeper instead of one of the DC's as an experiment. Just beat Bremen solidly for the Super Cup!

I've played this season with 3 DC's, WBL, WBR, DMC, MC, AMC and 2 ST's. The point of my formation is that the wingbacks function as wingers when in possesion of the ball. Seems to work well since I've got promoted with Slough.

I like to use a back 3 too, all set up as ultra defensive with mixed TTB. I use Barrowed MCs to drop back as DMs in defence. I also slot in an AMC between the MCs and the strikers, who drops back to MC in defence. This keeps the midfield together, with and without the ball.

I play mainly using Cheltenham (I reckon if I can build my tactic to work at Cheltenham it will work anywhere...), so I still regard it as a work in progress.

When playing and coaching myself, I always used a back 3, so that's why I keep working away at making it work.
