I seem to be loosing a lot of games due to the oppositions keeper playing the game of his life combined with my strikers missing every single opportunity no matter how big.

What is wrong. Have anybody else experienced this problem?

I have not, but my strikers have great composure. Unless I am up against a world class keeper they aren't going to save a ton of the shots on goal, and they put a lot of them on goal. If you are getting a lot of one on ones I suggest looking for high composure more than finishing out of your strikers

Try playing at a slower tempo. Chances are less frequent but of greater quality. Also try setting your striker to run with ball as mixed and have no-one in your team set to long shots often.
