Not sure if this post belongs in tactics and training but I didn't know where else to put it.
I'm in december of the second season with Sampdoria, having been in charge for 8 months. They were taken over and i was given a very generous budget of £52m, having got through the Inter Toto cup i was able to attract severaal players to mount an assult on a champions league place, however all is not well.
Despite a squad which contains D'Alessandro, Ribery, Govou, Ronaldo (brazil), Pablo, Woodgate, Andrade, Ratinho, Hildebrand and more Im in 11th place and some of the better players are starting to get a bit concerned. It seems that every time i turn a corner I loose a seemingly easy fixture. I've beaten Fiorentina & Udinese recently who are 2nd and 3rd but loose at home to teams like Atlanta & Calgari. I've only won 2 games in a row all season.
My tactics are kind of a Man Utd/Chelsea 4-2-3-1 setup with lots of attacking pace and flair built on a strong defensive midfield and centre backs. At first I was hammering teams and getting beat by opposition who would have <40% posession and two or three shots all game. Now Im just playing really really badly. I think I've got 5 or 6 players over 7 average rating.
My team has the ability but its just so frustrating to seem them win against a big team to get outplayed by lower opponents. Does anyone have any advice?
