I have started three different games and have the most successfull results in the first season. Winning leagues with more than 10 points. as seasons past, tactics have to be modified every season and upsets comes more and more often.
in champions league, if you ever conceded an away goal, beware it will definately haunt you on your away match. many a times either i will be knocked out by weaker teams where i dominated the game but loses it. for a few ocasions i will be thrashed by barcel/chelsea etc on away match. it is due to the home crowd support i suppose. italians team are much easier to beat though.
the only sign of winning in CL is only when you scratched a draw or a narrow win in your away match. otherwise, pray for miracle from "kaka"
**** does really happens ever more proven in fm 2007. i got a great results away beating real, valencia, but the next match loses one nil at home to some relagation strugglers.

i have really enjoyed cm and fm series... it is just a game, so chill. splashing cash that don't exisit lol... managing different clubs and nations in a single saved game for many seasons is so much fun.
Finally FM 2007, the series that requires tatics tweating according to the strength of your squad. Beautiful and yet agonising at times.
