Please can you help me.

I have tried every variation of the 4-4-2 with Port Vale and am currently 7 points adrift at the bottom of Lg.1 after 25 games.

I seem to get thrashed 3-0 by reasonable teams and have bore draws at best against others.

I have only won 2 games.

I have tried *other* tactics but to no avail. They got me a few more goals but that's it.

I am considering switching to a 5-3-2 or something becuase the fans are now having a go at me for not experimenting.

Please help, I'm sure someone must have the ideal tactic for a similar/same Lg.1 side!

This threads already been closed once. Did you think that by giving it a different title no-one would notice it was the same thread?

If you look around and read some of the excellent guides that people have put together you'll get some very good hints and tips on how to improve your tactics. Failing that there are plenty of tactics available to download. Just have a look round and see which one looks best for you and give it a try.

Quite simply, yes.

I was just told to "read the rules" and having done that, I didn't really see what I had done wrong!

Therefore, I still wanted an answer!

I have read various topics on this matter, and because I thought people out there might be able to help me a bit quicker than me trawling through different extremely lengthy topics, most of which use top-flight teams, I thought I should post again.

If you look at the fourth point down in the rules it says 'do not post asking for the best tactic for your team'

The point is people put a lot of effort in making guides and tactics so it just looks lazy if you can't be bothered to have a look and try a few yourself. You'll find a decent one eventually.

It may be a bit more time consuming but you'll pick up knowledge on the way that will help you, and unfortunately them's the rules.

I must have missed that one in the plethora of articles I've looked at!!

I'm led to believe you need to try a tactic for at least 8 matches before it might take effect - I'm trying the RoT ones tonight to see if they have an impact! Fingers crossed!

If you continue to flout the rules of the forum, you will be post-modded. There are threads which deal with the 442, these tactics do work. There are loads of threads on the subjects, and the authors of these threads are not paid a daily wage to go in and answer every single thread which asks for a tactic.

Just taking one tactic and assuming it does the trick is not enough. You need to understand how to use it. In future do not post another thread asking for a tactic. This is a forum for discussions.
