After reading the tactics forums, major praise goes to wwfan, and making tactics for my teams different versions for home and away, I was still getting frustrated at not having the success I was craving especially away from home. Yesterday in a little bit of frustration I switched to the basic 4-4-2 attacking pre-installed tactic.

I was unprepared for what was about to happen. With my Huddersfield team who were looking like missing out on promotion again went soaring up the league, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion, but coasting through the play-offs. Now in the championship first seasing, I'm sitting comfortably mid-table. My side is definatly not strong enough to move up the league any further.

This simply is proof to me, that I just don't know any more and why I love this game. It makes me wonder what a real manager must feel like when they're creating their dynamic tactics, dont work go to a basic 4-4-2 and start winning! So I have a new motto now for FM 2007 if it aint working go 4-4-2 attacking.

i dont have pre installed instructions...they all just on the middle mark...what are the team instructions please...i also want to use that tactic

Mickey plays with the default 4-4-2 Attacking. All the values are in the middle.

Basically he's playing mixed passing at a moderate tempo, moderate width, zonal marking etc.

The MC's are set to TTB often, eveyone else on mixed

The wide players are set to crossball often, everyone else mixed.

Whole midfield and fullbacks on forward runs with CB on rarely.

Wingers run with ball often, CB's rarely.

There is a reason for this being successful.
