Ok, I've just finished my first season with Inter, and have been handed a rather large transfer budget. Now, I'm in the market, and have some potentials, but I have 2 main problems:
Firstly, when I try to sign the players I really want (Nasri and De Silvestri) my offers are constantly turned down and my best efforts to unsettle them are not working!! Does anyone have any advice on how to bag either of them??
My second problem is that whenever I attempt an offer for a player, about 5 other teams immediately put in offers of equal or higher value. So I then have to compete with teams like Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, AC Milan and Arsenal for their signature!! Terribly annoying!

A workaround for this is :
Make your bid and as soon as you hit confirm and before hitting continue, remove the player from your shortlist. Repeat this when you offer a contract and no other club will be aware of your interest.
Well many big players attract attention from different clubs. Nasri is a very good player so he's bound to attract attention (not sure about Silverstri). Before you put your bid in, check if he's wanted by any other clubs. If he's not, put your bid in and then immediately (before you continue your game) remove him from your shortlist. This seems to work for some reason. I had so many problems trying to sign Adriano from Inter at the beginning of the season for the 10M price. As soon as I bid for him, 3 other teams did the same. But then I started removing him from the shortlist before I continued the game and it seemed to work. So give it a try.
Second, if any player is in the same league, the team is unlikely to want to sell. Especially if you are a rival. Get a scout report on the player and if he says "the club is unlikely to want to sell this player as they regard him as a good prospect for the future" or "he would have no intention of joining our club at this time" you will find it very hard to lure him away. And unsettling a player doesnt always work. It's only sometimes that is happens.
If your scout comes back with a value for the player (and a good scout will do it most of the times) then you should be able to get him for around that price, give or take a little. And also, you shouldnt have too much of a problem competing with the other teams. Inter are as big a club as the others so if you offer him what he demands in the contract, he should come. Praise him a little before you bid. That might help. And when you offer him a contract, try to give him a role better than what he has at his current club. For eg: if he's in squad rotation, give him a first team or maybe a key player role. That will influence their decision as well. Hope this helps!
Not sure on number one (maybe your bids aren't high enough?), but number two happens a lot IRL. For example, Vela had almost all the top clubs in Italy, Spain and England bidding for him. As did Theo Walcott. And Alex Pato. And many many others.
Ok, thanks for the shortlist tip. That might help alot (since other teams wait for me to make my bid and then go nuts!).
Now, with my other problem, I've not been offering not enough, and I have been praising and whatnot. I got Nasri unsettled, attempted to sign him for $45M and still get turned down
Kinda annoying after a while.
when placing a bid set a deadline for the same day! If other teams only show an interest after you have bidded then this will work. If other teams are interested before you place a bid this will not work.
