Just got Forest into the Championship. we did it in style, scoring a lot of goals (121 in all competitions) but conceding too many as well. I bought fairly well, based on strengthening my defence - Lloyd Doyley DC, Colin Doyle GK, Kieran Lee DL (season loan) Michael Lustig DR.
unfortunately, we're shipping goals, and i can't seem to get it right.
possibly I need to go away from it for a couple of days and come back fresher. In terms of personnel, I think I've got a pretty strong defence but I think tactically something is lacking. has anyone got any ideas of how to shore up this defence?
Take some time out and then really watch your games. How are the goals being conceeded? Then you can look to address it.
For example are you losing headers, is it pace that is beating you, are particular players making regular mistakes, are set pieces the problem?
Ultimately that's the point of the game, look at what is happening and adapt. It might mean it takes longer to succeed but that's the fun of it.
And if you find you get sacked before you've had time to get it right you've learnt an important lesson in football.
