Excellant update.

Nice to know that there are some countries you can play in where the people who reply to adverts share the same language as your club.

2008/2009

Bank Balance: £-32k (we seem to be haemorhaging money quicker than Nick Leeson on an bad day)
Transfer funds: £6k (how they can afford this I will never know.

Players in: 7 for £1k including two very promising ones a DR and a FC to partner last years top-scorer.

Despite finances that would make most third world countries happy with their lot I was cautiously optimistic as I approached my 4th season in charge of Alfreton, I had absolutely abused my scout through the summer sending him on countless 2 week vacations to some of the most fantastic places the world has to offer: The highlands of Scotland, The low-lands of Wales and the wet-lands of Eire. I was going to send him to France but thought that this would be pushing the boat out too far, what with him needing French lessons and all.

The season began with a bang and after 14 games we were sitting pretty at the top of the league with 31 points and everything was looking rosy. That's where my inexperience kicked in. I had a positive thought and becuase of that I was punished - severely. A run of 9 games without a win saw me drop to 7th on 35 points after 23 games. Not a bad return for half a season. I had ignored the cups completely (cups suck ass) and fielded weaker than average teams to ensure I progressed no further - I even resorted to experimenting with some player positions.

January came and my scout was having a nervous breakdown at the fact he was never getting to see his wife and kids but boy was he doing his job. 3 more players came in with two of the being CM (one a creative force and the other being a little more defensive minded [which really means he was old and all he could now do was hurt people])
I soon put together a nice little run of form and the season was back on track my two wingers were creating chances galore and my relatively new strikeforce were taking these chances with aplomb. The season was a overwhelming success with both forwards finishin with over 30 goals and Alfreton being crowned as Champions of Conference North.

Final League Position
1st played 42 won 23 drawn 11 lost 8 Pts 80
Goals for 93 goals against 54 GD +39

Fans player of the year the NI left winger who ave 7.69 and had 26 assists.

I have just began the post/pre season and my forwards are attracting a lot of attention and I have negotiated a bid from premiership bound Watford for the 24 y/o two time top-scorer that reads like this
1.5m initially + 750k after 6 months + 750k after 20 league goals, a 20% sell-on and a friendly. They bit...I am still unsure whether to accept the bid - he's quite good you know

Thank you and good night.
