SEASON 2020/21 English League Two- Lincoln City.

5 Players in £27K (+2 for 166K in June)
11 out for 925K (a further 3 to leave for 1.5M in June)

A great season for Lincoln City. Sitting on top of the League Two table at the halfway point, I decided to take some fiscally responsible action to reduce the wage bill, hopefully with the effect of being able to offer better wages to future signings before next season. I managed to reduce the wage bill by about £6K p/w to be just 2K over budget (which stands at 22K), stashing a healthy wad of cash into the bank in the process.

The loss of a couple of the better players did have an effect, and what would have been wins earlier in the season turned into draws. There was no major disaster however, and we ended up being comfortably promoted in second spot . In a self-declared masterful display of man-management, I convinced my star GK that he really wanted to stay at the club by making him captain. This worked a treat for the next dozen or so games, before he started grumbling again about bigger clubs . This was a bit of a theme throughout the squad, so we shall see if they are any happier playing in League One.

Some tempting job offers came in, most notably Hearts, and Wolves right at the end of the season as they were entering the promotion play-off matches for entry to the Premiership. In the end I stayed true to the ethos of taking each club as far as possible.

Young Striker had a decent showing with 15 goals, whilst his strike partner bagged 21. With a few quality players leaving when the transfer window re-opens (aforementioned strike partner included), I’m waiting to see what the board will allow me to offer in the way of wages and set about rebuilding the squad.

League Two W22 D19 L5 Pts 85- 2nd Place
FA Cup 4th round
League Cup 3rd round
LDV Cup Qtr Final

PSNI came agonisingly close to getting into the NI Prem, losing 1-3 on aggregate in the promotion play off. The presence of the former manager at the home match just wasn’t enough to get them over the line.

Once, in my non-LLM FM2005 past, one of my players wanted to leave the club... He was the star player and i was in my first season on Serie B, caming from C2/C.

I've raised the amount asked for him, so he got no offers, and was mad at me too...

Chievo just saved my skin... they payid half the value aked, and that was near the original value, fo co-ownership!

The player agree to stay for 2 years and i becamea mid-table on Serie B, just before i quit for entering LLM world...

I used pre-editor on that one so, i want no credits on that!

Oh.. and KUTGW BigSam

If it's not a LLM experience, we don't want to know about it. Especially where ed****s are concerned.

Season 2021/22 English League One- Lincoln City, Championship- Huddersfield

Probably the most frustrating season I have ever had on FM. After all my fiscal restraint over the last couple of seasons, whilst still getting promoted to League One, I was hoping for a bit more generosity from the board when it came to wages for new signings. With about 3M in the bank, the tight b@strds actually lowered the amount I could offer key players. I struggled with the squad I had for a bit under half the season, realised it was going nowhere, issued an ultimatum and was on my way. At least the fans saw my point.

Shortly afterwards, I took over the helm at Huddersfield, firmly anchored to last spot in the Championship. I genuinely felt the squad was good enough to stay up, but a ridiculous number of draws (I can't be @rsed loading up the game for the exact number, but it was more than half my matches) meant we went down.

Utterly deflated by this experience, with no 'emotional investment' in the Huddersfield club, and with the release of 6.0.3., I have finally started a save in FM06 (in Portugal, thanks to Frank), so this save has probably seen the last of its days for a while. All in all, an enjoyable run, the highlight of the career denifitely being the Northern Ireland Cup win with PSNI (not withstanding that cups suck @rse), followed by the career of Young Striker.
O.Barrio, here we come.
