Well it is now 2022 in my Basingstoke save and I have got to say the Manager reputation seemed to increase at a reasonably rate.

From memory here is where my reputation went up

Obscure – Conference south.
Local – Div 2
Regional - Championship
National - Won Premiership
Contenental. Won Premiership and CL in the same year.

I am sure there are lot of other factors involved but the rate at which I increased seemed reasonable to me.

It does sometimes seem to take a while to move up. In my current game I stayed as unknown for three seasons till in won the Conference South when I moved to obscure. I have won the Conference South again but am still only local however I guess that's about right considering a relegation inbetween. At least my club is now local.

It certainly is getting annoying for me, I am now in my 7th season with Harrogate and I am sitting top of League Two and it finally changed to Local reputation.

The thing that really annoyed me is that I have been in charge of Guatemala for 2 years(was offered it the day I was promoted out of the conference) hoping that international recognition will change my reputation quicker but winning the Gold Cup failed to increase my reputation from obscure. Surely winning an international trophy would at least give you local renown. How can someone be in the North America Hall of Fame and not be higher than obscure reputation?!?.

I dont remember the name of the English managers of India, Nepal or Latvia who did excellently but hardly gained anything but obscure reutations.

Okay, I've just tried to think this through.

Can I name the real life manager of my local club (Weston-super-Mare)? No.

How many other Conference North/South Managers could I name off the top of my head? 1

How many Conference? 3 straight off, maybe another 1 or 2 if I looked up the league table and tried really hard.

League 2? Probably the same, maybe a few more after looking at the table.

League 1 - a third at a push, I guess

Championship - probably all, but then that's where the team I support plays. I'd probably have to think for a bit on some of them, too.

EPL - all, straight off.

So, based on my English experience, I'd say Lge 2 local, Lge 1 regional, Championship regional - national, EPL national. International? How many managers could I name in Germany or France? 1, maybe 2 in each, 4-5 in Spain and Italy, so the proportion should be the same in the EPL in FM, I'd say.

The manager of the Latvia side that went to Euro 2004 manages Spartak Moscow now. That is pretty decent recognition.
