In my opinion, which likely doesn't count for much, I feel like staff and ex-players really shouldn't be named, either, simply due to the floodgate scenario.
I really don't see the difference in naming a player who became a manager, no matter his age in the version of the game, because people do play previous versions of the game. Naming any personnel is just inviting someone to start naming their new signings, since they see other names in here.
Obviously this is just one man's opinion, and I don't hold much weight.
