I've just played against local foes Belgrano de Cordoba, played all over them away, but had a player sent off and lost 2-1.I rate it as the game of the season as both teams rate 7-9s.Tackles fly in from everywhere, midfield is a warzone as both teams fight it out, last man standing.
My question is How do you guys rate the derby games and whether you put up an extra effort against local foes?
Its one of the first things I check on being appointed. Then every time we play the b*******s I set tackling to hard, go all out attack and curse their manager. I invariably get a player sent off and lose, but at least some of their plyers get crocked.

Closest non league teams to Eastleigh...
Salisbury City
Havant & Waterlooville
Newport Isle of Wight
Bognor Regis Town
and slightly further are Worthing.
Before the game I got this news bulletin:
This evening Instituto are to face rivals Belgrano in what is expected to be a fierce local derby. Instituto are slight underdogs for this away clash but have every chance of coming away with something.
Made it quite clear who my local side is.Im on the side of Mr biscuit, I relentlessly attack my bitter rivals in the press calling them shyt and there manager clueless.Even go as far as telling the press I hope they get relegated. We hate each other and it sure does draw a huge crowd, Both stadiums have been packed this season, setting crowd records for both clubs.I certainly hope they stay up as were can feed off the sort of crowd figures we draw.

In my Yeading game I used to have Hayes as my last pre-season friendly (their grounds are about 1 mile apart IRL), in the early days it was because I thought that Hayes would prove a tougher test as they were local rivals. I have no idea if this had any effect.
In later years I did to help them out financially.
