About the issue on the thread.
I don't see a point for all the discussion.
Why the Harchester Path is so bad? It's not the demon work is it?
Not that i will download it, anyway....

And allowing new stadium construction at new sites, if the board allows it and the club needs to move due to zoning restrictions?
Those are REAL options that might actually generate some excitement for the game. If anyone is suddenly drawn to FM because Harchester is playable, then that person is a sad bastard that needs to be deported to Fantasyland, where you can play beach football with a certain former Brazilian legend and that German fellow who is the only person to have won a World Cup both as a player and manager.

Poor old guidelines need a tweaking
Play the game as SI programmed it. That is, install the CM Game, apply the latest official SI Patch, except that abomination that is the Harchester Patch. Choose a Team and play the game. That means do NOT use editors or third party updates (i.e. Updates on squads, competitions, etc, made up by persons other than SI).
What’s next? A world 11 that you can drop into any league… (Oh hang on we already have Chelski) how about a historic DB, pick up George Best, as a 17 year old kid and watch him progress through his career. Tweak their ages so you can have Pele, Best and Maradonna on the same team... (actually that sounds kinda fun but definatelt not LLM).

| I think that's taking it a bit far, tbh. Everyone is drawn to games for different reasons (People think we're sad bastards for playing strict LLaMa style).
SI have stated that enough people were interested in the Harchester unofficial patches for them to do one officially. Ultimately, they have a product to sell. God forbid they seek other avenues to try to sell it. The question that come with it is: are they stepping down from their realism soapbox just to sell a few extra copies and if it works, what next? If not now, when? (oh, wait... ).
I can't see getting angry over this patch, as I said in my first post. In fact, I'm not against fantasy options being in a game (being fantasy draft, create your own team, etc.) so long as they are optional. Is the editor installed on my game? No. Face in the game? **** no. Has either presence changed my experience of the game? No. And that's the key. If the experience of it remains the same, then what's the bother? Of course it's not LLM, but neither is starting in the Premiership, but you can do that in the game as well.
If SI want to sell their souls to Sky (or whoever is responsible for this Harchester nonsense) in return for sales, let them, so long as the core of the game remains the same (clearly they're morally corrupt now ). They may lose some credibility in the "that's unrealistic and unlikely ever to be in our game" stance, but it won't (yet) stop me from playing the game, or being bitter at SI.

It's a slippery slope. What is SI in business to do -- create the most realistic football management game or to expand its customer base and make millions of pounds? It seems to be that the CM/FM series started out solely as an effort to create a good football management sim. The game sales and the profits were really secondary, because the series didn't truly explode on the market until later. It all started as a hobby as much as a true business endeavor.
So, while I understand the arguments that people are making about expanding the popularity of the game and increasing sales, there is no doubt that SI already generates enough money to continue its focus on realism and improve this game from year to year.
If suddenly SI starts to consider raw profitability and cheap ploys to lure in new customers, then we're all in for trouble. As we've seen from other game makers, it's not pure realism and a hardcore mentality that sells. It's bells, whistles, graphics, and cheat codes. So if you want to get rich and expand your customer base, then you'll end up prostituting your original intentions and abandoning them for the sake of gimmickry.
Leave Harchester and any other 'brilliant' ideas to EA Sports and the other bastards out there that have no interest in generating a truly realistic management game.
