Patiently awaiting the voices of reason - you think I'm going into battle against you lot on my own? Have you ever SEEN Zulu...
Seriously - SI had a good opportunity to work with the guys at SKY and gain some promotion for the game. Yes, SI have a commitment to making the best and most realistic management game available - something that they take more seriously than anyone else in my experience, which is not limited.
But they also have a commitment to making a living, and promoting the game to new audiences is part of that. I know some developers that would "sell out" and force this on their customers, but SI stuck to their principles and made this a patch - an option - that no-one who immensely dislikes it even needs to think about.
I'll caveat my next statement by saying I don't work at SI, and Ter may choose to confirm this, but in my opinion SI wouldn't have committed to this if it was massively time consuming, or if it would remove significant resources away from their core business - which is continuing to improve the Football Manager series.
My advice - If you don't like it - never think about it again. You'll never see it again unless you seek it out - so don't let it bother you. Personally, I don't watch Dream Team and won't play as Harchester, so it's not bothering me...
