You are quoting the behaviour of an actor portraying a character as an example.

Most people of my generation have exceptional social skills as was demonstrated by the general good behaviour and respect for others in those days, and the general decline in manners and behaviour since.

[Sorry Church. Dyslexia can be a real problem...I'm assuming it is spelt consistent then

We never had dyslexia when I was at school, if you could not spell at the start of the school year, by God you could at the end.

We had one chap who was a touch slow, but detentions every day where he had to right out hundreds of lines with correct spellings, followed by two to three hours of individually supervised homework every evening barring Saturdays and Sundays, soon cured him of word blindness. The beatings when he made silly errors also helped.
He finished with a full complement of O-Levels and A-levels and went off to University.

Mind you boarding schools were a touch tougher in those days. </BLOCKQUOTE>

1. I have never been officially "diagnosed" as dyslexic but I still reckon I am.

2. I also have a full compliment of GCSEs and A'levels

3. I am now at uni.

4. I also went to boarding school

5. Now that I have left...bring back corporal punishment!

Sod corporal punishment, bring back capital punishment (but only in schools) that'll soon reduce class sizes.
