In all my saves I've always fluctuated between large and huge and have never really settled on one or the other.
I have found loads of players, mainly in the Irish leagues, where I have signed lots of promising youngsters. I have never played with huge I don't think, always large, and then have relevant leagues running.

I think having the right leagues running is more important than the size of database.

Good thread Phil

Does anyone remember a thread a while back where it became a huge Welsh challenge thread? It started of with one lad talking about his Welsh league exploits and turned into a massive thread with everyone sharing their experiences? Twas an enjoyable read but the search threw up nothing

Was called 'Has anybody ever done anything in Europe with a LoW side?' or something similar.

Was a GQCM3 forum thread IIRC. Too open to non-LLaMa ethics for my liking.

We actually had a 'challenge' of sorts. Several of us played LoW on 03-04 to see how far it was possible to take a side under LLaMa guidelines.

Aye, but i think Robbo was updating his exploits in it, so that made it brilliant.

2008-09

Favourites yet again, I was now ridiculously short-priced in the odds for every league game, and most opposing managers took time out to tell me how much they didn't want me to win the league.

4 players came in during the summer for a total of £300k, including a RB from a Championship Team's reserves for £200k. I had the money mainly due to the sale of one of my best forwards to Inverness CT for £625k, who had been one of my first buys for £2k.

3 more players joined in Jan for £200k. I let another 7 players go on frees, and sold a young CM, again to Inverness for £150k.

CL: unseeded again, draw against FH of Iceland. Lost the away leg 4-2. Was 3 nil up in the second leg, but conceded two late goals to go out 6-5 on agg. Failed at the first hurdle again.

Challenge Cup: Lost 3-2 on agg to Aberystywth in the 1st round.

Premier Cup: Lost to surprising eventual winners Merthyr Tydfil in the QFs.

Welsh Cup: Beat Bangor 5-3 in the Final, in a game which sounds closer than it was. 3rd successive Welsh Cup.

WPL: Went the whole season unbeaten. 22pts clear of Bangor (again )

record: p34 27-7-0 pts 88

So, plenty of domestic success, but still no progress whatsoever in the CL
