Default Return of the Superkeeper?

Currently struggling through my Cowdenbeath game, and a small irritant is the return of the superkeeper in 6.0.3.

It could be me being paranoid. It could be nothing at all.

It could also be that whenever I play a team off the park comprehensively, I lose 1-0 and their keeper gets a 9. If he makes a few saves in the first 10 minutes you know the script.

Now I don't dominate many games, but when I play Dukla Pumpherston or equivalent in the first round of the cup, you'd expect me to score one or two.

It didn't happen in 6.0.2.

Or maybe my strikers are useless.

My guess is that your strikers are crap. Since an early version of FM2005 I dind't notice any super keeper.

Or maybe my strikers ar SO useless, that they can't even hit the keeper, they can only manage to put it miles off goal.

In my Workington save I'm so happy when my so called strikers hit a shot on target that I even don't mind if the keeper saves it. :*)

Not that we get as many shots on goal to allow the keeper to get the super status though

I cannot say I have noticed a prevelance for the superkeepers to appear. In my 11 sesason career, I can only remember one occasion when I noticed a superkeeper on the oppsing team. I had, something like, 37 shots, 27 on target and lost 1-0 to their only shot on goal. The highlights were constant with my team trying everything to get a goal. Good luck to them, they rode their luck and beat us.
I must admit though, I was fuming at the time.

One game in 11 seasons is not what I call a problem.

Church - good to hear.

It's just because I installed 6.0.3 only a week or so ago, and I'd never seen a keeper get MOM. Since then I've had about 4.

I've played in games where the opposition keeper has won the game for them and in games where our keeper has won the game for us. All in all it's probably about even over the past 8 seasons.

Can't say I've noticed it to be prevalent, but I did run across a superkeeper in the clan game on Sunday MoM, made a dozen world class saves and we drew 1-1 despite having twice as many shots with a much greater percentage on target than the opposition. As I say though, it's been isolated incidents for me.

It still happens in FM2006. I've just had a beauty.

We played 7 games, drew 5, lost 2, and the shots/on target/goals stats had me weeping.

We had 120 shots, 52 on target, and scored 5.

Opposition had 39 shots, 16 on target, scored 8.

Only three opposition goalie MoM, though.

...and we're still top of the League, although we dropped to 3rd at one point. Our competition had a bad run as well.

Superkeepers don't exist. Keepers can have a day when they stop every shot, that happens IRL as well.
When you beat a team 1-0 and got outshot 1-16 were your GK picked up the MoM award you don't complain do you?

Have a look at what I just quoted.

7games run, drew 5 lost 2 with all the shots on target...and I won promotion.
