So I took over expecting to just experiment for this first season and cross my fingers it wasn't going to turn out a complete disaster. Signed an experienced English pairing which included a DC and an FC who both gave consistent 7+ ratings throughout the season both for nothing.. and a Scottish MC for nothing also.. I also loaned a young keeper from one of the big boys in the premiership so the backbone of my side was secured.
Cup competitions worked out a complete waste of time as my second string bowed out in 1st and 2nd rounds of the national cups respectively although there was no embarrasment as it took teams from the leagues above both times.
Other than the cups we stayed consistently in the top 3 for the entire season which I was really happy with. The most dramatic of last season days I've ever experienced with all of the top 3 having the ability to win it. I went into the game 2nd joint on points with Berwick who I was actually playing on the last day. Stenhousemuir were 3rd 2 points behind they needed a draw from our game for them to win it.
Game kicked off to a great start we went in 2-0 up at the break. I was jumping round like an idiot until Berwick pulled one back half way through the second half. Was nail biting as they were leading on goal difference if they were to equalise. Eventually we secured it as my subsitute SC came off the bench to seal it. It also secured him his contract for next year!
So very surprisingly we finished the season as champions, the surprise was confirmed when I was bombarded with e-mails telling me how much of a shock it was and how everyone was so proud. I also gave in to a new 1 year extension of my contract although they wanted a 3 year deal and £20 less than what we eventually agreed on. So all in all a class season, although I fear greatly our squad has no were near the depth to survive in the league above. We will definitley need to strengthen although we have no cash. So a little del boy style wheeling and dealing will have to be done. Teach the scots a little in the art of negotiation!
League Position - 1st (Champions)

League Cup - 2nd Round (0-4 St Johnstone)
Scottish Cup - 1st Round (1-2 Raith)

Hopes For Next Season - Because of my contract extension I feel obliged to honour it, although I'll have to think long and hard about any offers from bigger clubs as I fear my achievements may be forgotten about if next season was to be a disaster.
