Having lived in Basingstoke for about 12 years before moving to the states there was no doubt who I was going to manage. No prior knowledge of the team but my knowledge of the Camrose social club is quite extensive.

Finance went into the red before a ball was kicked in anger. However the league campaign was excellent, at Xmas I was in second place 12 points behind Weymouth. But we made a late charge at them trailing them by only 6 points when we played them away from home with 6 games to play. My dreams of glory were shatter inside 15 minutes as the took a three nil lead. And while they continued to dominate the game no more goals were added until we banged one in the 90th minute. Weymouth romped the league by 18 points in the end as our form fell away. Having finished 2nd in the league I was pretty confident of getting promoted via the playoffs. We escaped one scare in the playoffs semi final but sneaked through on penalties. (7 penalties for each side we win 2-1) mental note must set up some penalty training for some of the boysJ. Obviously we had escaped the scare and were going to romp it from here. Wrong thumped 3-1 in the playoff final and so we would be playing in the Conference South again.

After a close run thing last year I felt winning the league was almost a certainty this season. However we were not the quickest out of the blocks. But mid season had a great run of 25 games undefeated however we didn’t gain a huge amount of ground on the leaders as those 25 broke down as 11 wins and 14 draws. We eventually lost at home of all places but that spring boarded us to 8 league victories in a row, we finally caught the leaders and won the league in the end by 8 points!

Now that we were up in the lofty heights of the conference I was screaming to get some new blood into the team. I had two scouts, one was looking in England one was looking in the UK as a whole. Unfortunately any players that were good enough to join the team didn’t want to come to the Camrose. I did pick up a left winger as a freebie that I was expecting good things from but essentially the team hadn’t changed much from the side that got me promoted.

Xmas Update
My Left winger was a God, in 15 odd starts he had 5 man of the match performances and was averaging over 8 a game. These sort of performances did not go unnoticed by the big boys and I soon had teams sniffing around. I whacked his asking price through the roof which got rid of the unwelcome interest. Two more man of the match performances in a row and back they came like vultures. A bid came in which was worth 1.5 million. Good as this boy was I thought of what I could buy for 1.5 million. Certainly the biggest decision of my managerial career so far:- sold, he would leave me in January so I had 2 months of his services left. Obviously with the money promised to the club the board let loose their tight reins on the transfer budget and I went after about 15, 5 star recommended players. Three of them agreed to join me and I really started to fancy my chances at a post Xmas run at the title. Sure there were still holes in the team that I fancied filling but realistically we were moving in the right direction.
Just downloaded patch 6.0.2 So it is going to be tough to judge whether any change in my results will be down to the Patch or the changes in personnel.
Good luck with the new patch. Do you still have your left winger, or have you already reached January? It would be interesting to see if he becomes the greatest player in LLM history with the new patch.
Got him for another week. It is Christmas eve... I just want to unwrap my new 5 star presents… Funny enough since the deal went through 2 months ago he has been injured twice… out for 5 weeks total.

The season started very well and up until early November I was in the running for the title. In early November agreed the sale of my superb left winger for 1.5 million who promptly got injured. With the money from the sale I was able to strengthen many weaker areas of the team. So I really felt a good run after Xmas and we could push from promotion. It just didn’t happen. My new batch of star players played okay but didn’t quite reach the dizzy heights I was hoping for. One high point is that we won the suck @ss trophy
