Midseason update. 2009/2010
Picked up some more good players although this time I had to part with some not too hard earned cash for them. Well we started the league in superb form. Undefeated for our first 19 odd games and the entire division was propping us up. A disasterous run of 3 successive league defeats and not able to manage a win in 5 matches saw our players shell shocked and we fell to 5th in the league. I couldn’t have asked for better timing along comes a cup competition against weaker opposition. I believe our biggest victory prior to this was a 5-0. Well by half time in the suck as cup we were 6-0 ahead, We continue play attacking football in the second half and bagged 5 more. 11-0 was the final score and the most surprising aspect of this was that nobody got a hattrick!! A subsequent victory in our next league encounter and we were back on track. If typing this at work so don’t have the numbers but I think we have now played 30 games and are in 3rd place just one point behind the leaders.

Gota Love the cups eh Ian?

Well I think I have enough points that even if I lose the rest of the games this season I will avoid relegation. I don’t know if the board would be quite as friendly if that happened. I’ll just have to go to the board a press the “Elrawkum said promotion was a defianate” button. Maybe the will understand and not sack me.

For my last contract I agreed a low transfer budget for a high wage budget….. 20K a week wage budget seemed like an incredible amount of money when I was only spending 8k a week. That didn’t last long, all my latest signings were looking for around 2K a week. When my Xmas shopping spree was complete I was shelling out 27K a week. I’m in the process now of trimming the dead wood, “only” spending 25K a week on wages now.

Despite my overspend on the wage budget the board are not even slightly concerned about and still think I am the dogs ********.
