After having read a rather good LLM story about someone remaining at TNS till he got somewhere in europe made me want to give it my best shot as well as I always plumbed for Portsmouth or Celtic.
I have chosen the same setting as was in his.....
English League to Conference South and North
Scottish League to Division Three
Irish League to First Division
Northern Irish League to Second Division
Welsh Premier League.
Unlike the previous guy I have chosen to start unemployed and wait for my first Job.
2005/2006
I have made a decision to only apply for Welsh and Irish(northern and southern) Jobs
This proves fruitless as they are few and far between in becoming available and I fail to Land any that come along.
By the close of the season I have to accept defeat and go for any job at all.
Burscough come calling and offer me a 3 year deal. I ask for only 1 year as I hope to secure a job in Ireland or Wales by proving my merit.
That's good. Now make sure you complete three seasons before you update us on your progress. Sounds like a promising start though: no flagrant rule breaking.
I have fully read the rules of LLM and am finding the job quite a marked change from usual. No longer looking at the search screen for players but hiring my scouts and sending them out to find me players.
Opt to make a Pre-Season tour of N.Ireland to trial out my new band of players.
Two wins and a draw put me in a good mood ahead of the season start.
I start the season with no transfer budget and my scouts really earn their £20 a week by finding me a host of promising players released by League Teams and a few N.Irish and Welsh Gems that join me for free.
Manage to flog a couple of my players for a little cash and help trim the wage bill with all my dealings.
