Basically, I had a really good AMRC that one of my scouts found, but I sold him for fairly big money a year and a half later and brought in an average replacement on a free transfer. Since then I've been promoted and have got some mid table results up in the first division but to go up again I'm going to need a bit more class from a few positions and his is one of them. Is it in LLM ethics to target my scouts at him specifically to see if we have a chance of getting him back, and to see if they think he's still got it?
Also, part-ex deals, if I get offered a player and would consider selling my guy and the player is listed positionally as a position I'm looking to strengthen, I scout them and then reject because they're always as useless as the FA Trophy. What should I do if they offer a player in a position I'm looking to improve, but only for a player there's no way I'd sell. Is it okay to target the scouts on the guy, or not?
I scout ex players on a regular basis myself. Turns out the Striker i sold for 1.1 million 4 seasons ago had 3 excellent seasons for the new club but is no unwanted and available for 1k!
This made me very very happy untill he said he had njo intention of joining me.
In my last game I joined Hearts from Hinckley (I have a thing about aitches, obviously) and noticed very quickly that Hearts' favourite player was an Indian International they'd sold to Sparta the season before.
I looked him up and saw he was unhappy at Sparta, and that his favourite player was an AMC still playing with Hearts.
I had no hesitation putting in a bid for him without scouting, being as he'd spent 10 seasons at Tynecastle, had a good record as a goalscorer and reckoning that he'd tell his mate that he was having a rough time at Sparta.
I sent out a scout after my AMRC and he reckoned he still had it and his contract was running out, so I offered him one. He didn't sign as he wanted to try and break into Aalesund's first team. It didn't happen and a month and a half later, they released him. At which point, he signed for half the money I offered him before. I'm about as chuffed as my central midfielder who has him as favourite staff is
