The Swedish cup sucks ar$e. I beat an unpronouncable Premier div team then lost to another (Malmo) in the next round. Didn't make enough for a king-size Mars bar.

The F.A. Cup certainly does not suck arse.
A run for a Conference North/South club to the First Round, which is certainly achieveable, can net the club in the region of £70,000, as my Worcester 'experiment' showed.
£70,000 is a godsend to any team on the sixth level of the English pyramid.
The Trophy and the Suck Arse Trophy on the other hand, do suck arse. You've got to go all the way in those competitions to get any glory and money out of them, and quite frankly isn't worth it as they'll most likely bugger up your league position for no real reward. With the £70,000 or so for a good F.A. Cup run, you could get two or three decent players for that level and not worry about your finances.
