Season 5, 2009

Expectations: Battle bravely against Relegation, sounds right to me, i have a couple of players i hope will step up but serious doubts about others.

Funds: about £1.4 mill i thin, not that i can manage to spend it!

Players in: 5 for 5k total
Out: 3 for £1 million.

Players in are generally strenghening squad. Only quality is again a left winger as i dont fancy chances of keeping last seasons star.

Sure enough he hands in transfer request due to me turning a 750k bid down, Sell him for £1 million (buy out clause in contract)


Cup; Nothing to report went out to a fellow 1DS team without so much as a whimper

Mixed bag but very happy with final position. the quality in 1DS is really varied, one week we thrash someone then get hammered by the big boys. Thankfully never in danger of the drop though.

New left winger is just as good as the last one. Which is good except once agai the big boys are circling. They also want my RM who has finally come to life and is called up to swedens U19's.

Season 6, 2010

Expectations: Battle bravely against Relegation, After last seasons good performance i just want to consolidate, there is a huge gap between me and the bigger teams in the division.

Funds: 2.5 mill, totally unable to use it on anyone once again.

Players in: 9 for 130k
Out: 3 for £1 million.

Players in are again generally strenghening squad. Again i buy a LM as last seasons newkid is moved on, again i hold out for his contract release of £1million.

The CB who isnt a natural CB let alone anything else has proven to be the worst buy ever and released for free.

Again am happy with league showing. Though we finish lower and with less points than last year, as i had no chance of catching a promotion spot i spent a lot of time tinkering with fringe players and tactics.

I regret to say we did well in the cup. Beat premiership big boys Lanskrona at their own ground in R3 as they played their second string. After them had an easy run to semis where we face Kalmer another prem team. We are totally outplayed but get two on the counter thanks to a Turkish ST i signed in the summer from a Prm teams reserves.

Final is against fellow 1DS side Orgryte. They were runaway league winners though so i expect a tough game, doesnt happen though and we run out 4-0 winners in an even sided game, turkish ST again runs riot and gets a hat trick!

Hope they arent too long, i tend to waffle on a bit!

Turkish ST has been a god send but Beskitas have come knocking with silly money so he is sadly on his way back home for about 2.5 million.

I dont have money isues anymore, will have about 6 million in the bank when his sale goes through. I find it impossible to spend this though as no player of note will sign for me.

Have been applying for lots of jobs in the close season as i suspect i may have taken this club as far as it can, average attendace is still about 300

Shame about the crappy attendance issues. This is something SI need to sort out as a matter of some urgency as it utterly cripples a large number of teams due to the problems of not being able to offer competitive wages.

The club reputation issue is a long-standing and equally irritating problem they also need to sort out.

Yep despite the (admittedly lucky as hell) cup win, my reputation is still obscure.

Attendance wise i can actually offer a competitive amount due to the healthy bank balance but because my rep is the same as before 2 promotions and a cup win half decent players wont join.

Reputation is an annoying problem. Half-decent players won't even think about joining you, but will happily join sides the league under you, for less money. Not good.

Attendances are still pitifully low for me in my game, although I doubt the Second tier of Swedish football draws massive crowds in real life, a Conference side would be disappointed with the numbers turning up for our home matches.

To be honest, it's not lack of funds holding back my swedish side. After 3 seasons in the top flight (incl. 2 in which we qualified for Europe) I am about 1/4 of my wage budget because I simply cannot get good players to sign. And when my youngsters get to 21/22 they want out. More of a reputation issue.

The crowds are still carp, but improving. Most matches get around 1000 but games against the big boys bring in around 6000 or so punters, probably mostly visitors.

Just a very quick update to bring 2010 to an end.

Some one in England was finally desperate enough to offer me a job. So i have packed my backs and moved to sunny Rochdale.

I instantly regret this lol.

The club is 50% over its wage budget, £1 million in the red, and unsurprisingly no transfer money. 4 games left and sitting just 1 point above the drop to confrence hell.

First game of four sees their decent looking jkeeper injured, thankfully the deputy does ok, only to get injured in training before game 2. Final day i am 2 points clear of Cambridge with a better goal difference. What happens? Cambridge take an early lead at home while i am away and concede a penalty which is duly scored after 3 minutes. Things dont look good. I gave the lads a roasting at half time and read them the riot act. Thankfully this does the job and we win 2-1 with the captain praising my half time team talk afterwards!

So league two football next season with Rochdale. I have about 12 players contracts expiring all of them on good money so am letting them go and desperately scrambling for free and low wage replacements.

..nb Not even my Skarman players would come to Rochdale despite me being their favoured personel, doesnt bode troo well for rebuilding the squad.
