getafe did a number on them recently 2 - 0. barca have trouble away from home when teams don't just gift them the match. man u are starting to look very good in my opinion, which is a shame, obviously.

Yeah Barcelona are the best team in the world, that's why they won nothing last season, have lost to getafe, are 3rd in la liga, didnt get past the last 16 of the champions league etc.

They have the best players but they drastically underperform in competitions IRL

Barca beat Chelsea in Champions League Final 2-1 on my game. It was a very good match; Chelsea scored early on but Barca were dominating and having lots of chances although they could not put them away. In the second half Chelsea scored again but, thankfully, it was offside. Bacra couldn’t find a goal then, on 85th minute Eto'o came and scored. He also scored the winner in extra time.

No way is the standard in Spain better. In Spain you have 3 "power" teams (R. Madrid, barca, Valencia) who are similar to the "Big Four". Then you get the Evertons and Tottenhams of Spain (Athletico, Villareal, Zaragoza, Sevilla, Espanyol) who can compete and even win against the biggest teams. There's a few teams (Betis and Getafre) who can beat the big boys if they turn up (Newcastle? West Ham?). After that, any team could be beaten 5-0 by the top 2 tiers of sides without them having to break a sweat. In England, only Arsenal would be able to thrash teams like that, and as Arsenal are (at present) playing better than Barca,I'd say that the standard in England is higher, but the "third" teams are better in Spain.

The problem with the Spain vs England argument is this.

Unintelligent people think flicks, tricks and falling over is "real football". Anything that isnt a flick or a trick is deemed rubbish. These people are blind to seeing the Premiership as good because theres more stepovers in the Spainish league.

Intelligent people are able to comprehend the physical aspect of the game, tough tackling, running flat out for 90 minutes. These people generally realise both are equally good, if slightly different.

Then theres patriots who will say whichever country they are froms league is the best.

Unfortunately, the amount of unintelligent people far outnumber the amount of intelligent people in this world, which leads to pointless arguments.

Barcalona are pure flair with no backbone. Thats the problem. When thier tricks dont work, they just dont ignite and dont have any fight in them. Much like Arsenal of the past few seasons. Only they have got fight now.

You seem like the type of person who watches Ingmar Bergman films not because you enjoy them but because they are supposed to be "intelligent". Enjoying Barcelona's style of play over Chelsea's has nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with taste. Some people prefer Fellini's flair over Bergman's gravitas and vise versa, that doesn't make one group more "intelligent" or "better".
