Any ideas behind how this works? First game with Ipswich, second in the league season 1£400000 in the bank asked the board for funds around Xmas got given £3mill.
Second game with Ipswich first in the league around Xmas season 1 £700000 in the bank and funds declined.
Is this because of league position or money in the bank? Is it better to aim for a lower position to get the cash then? Or does this cash injection get taken into consideration later in the season? At the xmas transfer season many young players are still affordable for a club like Ipswich so it seems to me as if the second option is better. Any ideas?
Maybe it depends on how the board perceive you have spent any previous trasfer funds- if you have spent wisely and are successful then they will make more available. If you havent spent wisely ( in their eyes ) or not spent at all when they thoight you should, then maybe they will block further funds till you prove yourself. The answer is probably Who knows?
It also depends on what reputation you give yourself at the start of the game. The board are likely to give an ex-international footballer more money than an ex-sunday league player.
