Starting unemployed I accepted a job offer for QUB - an amateur team from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

I started with a bank balance of -£4k. After a few weeks I get the usual update of season tickets sold.

"The QUB board have indicated that 45 season tickets have been sold. They hope to sell another 100 to make the total upto 100."

With numeracy skills and financial know-how like this, Branson, Sugar and co will be quaking in their boots...

Obviously season ticket sales are coded in a minimum of one hundered, rounded up or down.

Watch out for their vote of confidence though.

If that was the case how come they are announcing they have sold 45 already? Surely if it was in blocks of 100 they'd say they've sold 0
